it's been a while since i've checked in with babes, mindgeek's high-end glamour/romance site. i've at least clicked on most of their (relatively infrequent) girl/girl output over the past few months, but rarely been compelled enough to watch all the way through. but wonderfully-dimpled aidra fox is always a charming presence, and i have some affection for statuesque redhead lauren phillips, so i sat down to make an evening of this one.
the introduction was pure silken pleasure: the lavish set, to all appearances an actual high-end salon that the past few years of more or less continuous porn house-spotting have made a refreshing change of pace, the affectionate conversation between customer aidra and stylist lauren, and the easing into sexual frankness as aidra confesses that her ex never satisfied her, were all delightful. the anonymous camera operators and lightning techs did masterful work making both women look stunning, even though everything had to be shot at an angle to keep the cameras out of the double mirrors in the background.
unfortunately once the the actual sex started the scene became much less compelling. none of that was due to the performances: aidra is a girl/girl all-star, and lauren puts in substantial elbow grease. but there have been a lot of mindgeek girl/girl scenes in recent months in which the sex takes place entirely on single chair in a professional environment (doctor's or dentist's offices, salons, etc.), and it never fails to feel awkward, unnatural, and essentially false. both women do a heroic job selling the sex anyway, and i have little doubt they enjoyed themselves as much as they could under the circumstances, but not even babes' high production values could save the sex-in-a-salon-chair premise.
