first things first: yes, i caved and paid for adult time again. it's been over a year since i cancelled due to the repeated surfacing of assault allegations against directors for gamma's many brands, and they have stuck to not working with those directors and i haven't seen any more allegations since, so i'm cautiously hopeful that they've rooted out the issue. in a more general sense, although i've voiced my disappointment with the direction that girlsway has taken since about 2017, and while gamma's girl/girl offerings overall were among those that suffered the most catastrophically due to covid, i've also noticed a few trends that give me some slight hope for the long-term health of girl/girl under the company. nothing as good as the return of we like girls, of course (we'll always have those first five episodes), but a stabilization, at least, of the total nosedive the various brands have taken in terms of quality since 2019.

one of those minor hopeful trends has been the quiet return of girl/girl all-star jenna sativa as a performer almost two years after her last scene. she's fleshed out physically a bit in the interim (not remotely a bad thing in my view; although i always wish studios would hire more women with her proportions who aren't already legends), and there's been a bit of an adjustment as both she and her directors have had to figure out her new good angles. but she remains as winning a personality and as dedicated a performer as ever, and in this scene with consummate professional and equally cutie pie jenna foxx, she reminds me of why i first fell in love with her appealing sense of unhurried enjoyment all those years ago.

let's get the production dings out of the way first. it sounds to me (not remotely a production professional, but i've been around a while) like the unidirectional mics that were supposed to capture the girls' conversation either failed to record or the audio got corrupted, so instead we're left with the backup audio captured by the camera(s), which is tinny, echoey, and distant. you have to strain to hear jenna deliver a cute speech to phone about how her massage parlor has been getting reported for sexual harassment, but when she pops the oil bottle open or shut to apply more oil to jenna's skin it's like a firecracker echoing in the warehouse set. there's even diegetic music throughout the scene, as whatever ambient playlist was put on to set the mood for the massage parlor leaks into the audio (generally verboten even in massage scenes, as modern porn fans despise the "cheesy" soundtracks of yore). and while director gus delario (one of several journeyman pornographers who have taken over the bulk of gamma's girl/girl production) does a perfectly adequate job of capturing both intimacy and action, the overfamiliar set, the exact same setup as in dozens of gamma's massage scenes this year (i'm assuming it's casey calvert's warehouse lot, where the vast bulk of gamma's production gets done these days), detracts a bit from any potential immersion.

but that's what the performers are there for. and i would be hard pressed to name two more immersive performers than jenna sativa and jenna foxx. from my minimal research, they have not worked together before, but they're both so dedicated to both their partner's pleasure and putting on a show that the tinny audio, dull backdrop, and uninspired camera work fell away, as the spectacle of two accomplished and charismatic women enjoying each other overcame everything else.
